Committed to Sustainability
Lake City Fastener is committed to minimizing its carbon footprint through a number of sustainability initiatives. This includes waste reduction, recycling, and proudly being Green-e Energy certified. We regularly review our business operations for efficiency as well as programs and initiatives to continue our environmental stewardship.
Renewable Energy
We are thrilled to have partnered with DTE Energy through their MIGreenPower program. Through our enrollment, LCF is attributing 100% of our electricity use to DTE’s wind farms and solar parks. As a result, we are on pace to avoid 5.5 metric tons of CO2 each year*. This investment in renewable energy helps to protect the environment and create a cleaner Michigan. Through LCF’s participation in the MiGreenPower program, we are a certified Green-e® Energy business. For more information on Green-e, visit green-e.org. Waste Reduction
LCF has implemented a robust composting initative. All of our coffee grounds, tea bags, and other compostable materials are added to our compost bin, which will later be used for gardens in our community. We have also limited single-use products by providing coffee mugs, water bottles, and other reusable items for our employees.
Recycling
LCF is passionate about doing our part to protect the environment, which is why we started our recycling program. Whether it’s paper, plastic, metal, or glass, we want to ensure it’s properly recycled instead of going to a landfill. Components that do not meet LSF’s rigid quality standards are also recycled appropriately.
Supply Chain and Logistics
We strive to be a responsible supplier so along with reusing shipping materials, we are strategic with our shipping methods and routes to further reduce our carbon footprint. This includes voluntarily electing to offset our carbon footprint with every UPS package we ship.
